Our checklist:
- Perform a complete vehicle inspection
- Remove moldings, clips, wipers, cowling, and the damaged glass
- Use a high-performance urethane adhesive to meet safe drive-away time requirements and your car manufacturer’s specifications
- Install cowling, wipers, clips, and moldings (replace new parts as necessary)
- Test all connections affected by the installation, including heating elements, antenna, and washer hose
- Perform a final vehicle inspection

- Place protective coverings on the vehicle to maintain cleanliness and prevent damage
- Use the Full Cut-Out method to remove old adhesive until reaching the thickness specified by the original equipment manufacturer
- Install a windshield that meets or exceeds Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and the original equipment manufacturer’s specifications
- Test wipers to ensure they’re positioned properly
- Vacuum any glass or debris from the vehicle
- Review the safe drive-away time recommendation
The auto glass safety standards we follow
Auto glass safety standards exist because your windshield is part of your car’s safety system. For example, it helps hold up the roof in a rollover and backs up the passenger airbag. So when we replace glass, we treat it like a safety repair.
Federal standards for the glass
First, every windshield we install meets Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 205 for glazing materials. You can also check the small stamp in the corner of the glass, which shows the maker and its ratings.
Industry standards for the installation
Second, we follow the installation standard from the Auto Glass Safety Council. That covers frame prep, primers, urethane adhesive and safe drive-away time. After that, if your car has a windshield camera, we complete ADAS calibration.
