When you need a replacement, not a repair
Replace the glass when a windshield crack is longer than a few inches, the damage reaches the edge of the glass, it sits in the driver’s line of sight, or it goes through both layers. Side and back glass is tempered and can’t be repaired at all once it breaks. If your damage is small, auto glass repair may be faster and cheaper.
ADAS calibration after a new windshield
If your vehicle has lane-keeping, automatic emergency braking or adaptive cruise, the forward camera is usually mounted to the windshield. After a replacement it needs ADAS calibration so those systems see the road correctly. We tell you up front if your vehicle needs it.
